HOURS OF OPERATION
The media center's hours of operation for both students and teachers are:
7:45 a.m. –1:50 p.m.
Students must have a pass to be in the library.
General Guide Lines for Checkout
Students may check out books on 7-day loan periods.
Students in kindergarten may check out one book at a time.
Students in first grade may check out one (1) book at a time Students in first, second and thrid grade may check out two (2) books at a time.
Students in fourth grade and fifth grade may check out up to three (3) books at a time.
A student who has an overdue book must return that book before s/he may check out another book.
Reference materials may be loaned to students overnight for research purposes. These materials must be returned the first thing the following morning. If these materials are not returned by 9:00 am, this will necessitate a visit to the classroom to check on the material(s).
LOST AND DAMAGED MATERIAL
If a book/material is damaged beyond repair or lost, patrons must pay for the lost/damaged book/material.
Students cannot checkout additional books or materials until payment for the lost/damaged books/materials has been received.
Student will use book markers when looking for items to check out. S/he will place the book marker where the book s/he takes is so s/he can return to the book to the correct place if they decide not to get the book.
Teachers may send two students from each room at a time to check out.
To Check-Out Books (Students):
When a student comes to the library to check out a book, the first thing s/he should do is pick up a book marker to keep the books in place. After finding their book(s), students should bring the book(s) to the circulation desk.
The media staff will assist students as soon as possible.
To Check-In Books (Students and Staff):
All books should be placed in the BOOK RETURN drop at the circulation desk.
NEVER PLACE CHECKED OUT BOOKS ON THE CIRCULATION DESK, RESHELVING CART OR BACK ON THE SHELF.
Accessibility during book fairs or other activities in the media center may require some temporary alteration in the hour of operation, or in the availability of materials for circulation, or in the level of service provided to students and staff.
All scheduling will be done through the media staff.
Please be prompt when bringing a scheduled group to the media center. If a scheduled group does not come at the appointed time, the classroom teacher will need to reschedule through the media staff. This will ensure the teacher and students the maximum time needed for a unit or lesson. The media center staff will not be responsible for reminding classes of scheduled times.
